Country Football WA Welcome Three New Board Members Wed, February 7, 2024 - 11:18 AM

Country Football WA is delighted to announce the appointment of three new board members. 

 

Andrew Lockyer will serve for the next two years, Andy Henshaw has been elected to fill a one-year casual vacancy, while Mark Blakely has received a two-year casual vacancy position on the board. 

 

A three-time premiership player with East Fremantle in the WAFL, Lockyer also played 76 games with the West Coast Eagles. 

Lockyer also initiated a fundraising initiative known as the AFL Rams for the victims of Cyclone Seroja in the state’s Mid-West in 2021. 

 

Henshaw’s football journey began when he played at North Beach Amateurs. 

He’s also coached football in remote Aboriginal communities for many years, developing and mentoring male and female players within his community. 

Henshaw’s role as a police officer has also provided opportunities for him to become involved with football in the Kimberley. 

 

Blakely has been involved in football since 1980, playing, coaching and working in administration around the state. 

He represented the League side and coached the Colts during his time at East Perth in the WAFL, before enjoying a distinguished career in Bunbury, beginning in 1998. 

Blakely played, coached, was on the Club’s Board before being elected President of the football club in 2012. 

 

Ian Stanley, acting President for CFWA welcomed these new board members at the 2024 AGM on the weekend.
