WACFL is a Board made up of ten Executive Members who are voted in at the AGM. Executive Members are granted two year terms with five members up for election each year. The following Members have been voted in by affiliated WACFL Leagues.
John Shadbolt (President)
Played approximately 200 league games for Mukinbudin Football Club as well as representing the Central Wheatbelt Football League on numerous occasions. John has held various administration positions with the Mukinbudin FC and Central Wheatbelt FL and is a Life Member of the Mukinbudin FC. John resides in Mukinbudin and became an Executive Member in 2008. Awarded WACFL Life Membership in 2018.
Ian Stanley (Senior Vice President)
Ian has been involved with the Kalannie FC and the Central Wheatbelt FL in playing and leadership roles for the past 32 years. Ian owns and operates a wheat and sheep farm in Kalannie and is widely recognised as a spokesperson for the integrated farm forestry industry in Australia. A WACFL Volunteer of the Year award winner in 2014 and life member of the Kalannie FC, Ian joined the WACFL in 2015.
Colin has been extensively involved with the Great Northern Football League in establishing a Three Panel Umpire Board, President of the Umpire Association for 10 years with three of those as Umpires Advisor and the current President of the Great Northern FL. Colin owns and runs a successful business in Geraldton. Colin played 10 years with the Whitfords Football Club and is a life member of the WAAFL. Colin joined the WACFL in 2014.
Grant joined the WACFL Executive in 2017 and is an enthusiastic and committed member of several sporting organisations. Grant has lived and worked in the Mid West of Western Australia since the mid 1990s and has established strong networks that connect sport, health and communities together. As such, Grant recognizes the importance of football and the social cohesiveness it provides to many rural communities. Currently, Grant is President of the Chapman Valley FC.
Joe has been Chairman of the Denmark Walpole Football Club for the previous 10 years and has also represented the Club as a player, coach and Life Member. In 2015 he commenced as Great Southern Football League Chairman and has also volunteered and been a pioneer in the development of the Great Southern Storm talent program. Joe joined the WACFL in 2015
Greg joined the WACFL in 2017 and brings with him a wealth of experience from football in the Mortlock where he was a former President for five years. Greg has experience on the League Committee, and with the Goomalling FC, and has run a successful Agribusiness in the region. He has a passion for grass roots football due to the social impact it can have in regional communities.
Barry is a past President of the Margaret River Football Club tand is currently President of the SWFL. He has a strong knowledge of what's required to run a successful club on and off the field and has run a successful construction company in the South West since 1999. Barry joined the WACFL in 2015.
Elected in 2020, Goldfields resident and one of the talented coaches in the Goldfields Football Leauge, Brendon joins the team this year. Going from player to mentor, he enjoys working with all ages footballers and always strives to extract and identify their strengths.
Elected in 2021, Craig has been a career Police Officer in Western Australia and is now an Inspector with Midland District Office and residing in Perth. Over his policing career Craig has undertaken many leadership roles with command of up to 250 staff and responsibility for leading multi-agency responses to critical incidents and emergencies. Craig has a long affiliation with country football as a player in five country Leagues over the past 30 years. An active committee member and coach with local country clubs Craig has also acted as Chair of the Pilbara Regional Development Committee for the past two years.
Elected in 2021, Helen, a Kimberley resident has worked in the sport and recreation industry for over 15 years, this includes education, social and emotional well-being spaces. Helen is currently a Director on the Glass Jar Australia Board, Glass Jar are the Foundation behind the “Shooting Stars” Program. Helen is also a previous Director of Garnduwa Amboorny Wirnan. On the football side of things Helen has been a player, coach, manager and member of leadership groups for her local football team. Helen has played football since High School and worked alongside communities to help grow the game and has been an integral part in growing the female participation program “Making her Mark” encouraging leadership through football.
